Dealer Spotlight: Moon Motorsports Returns to the Winning Combo — TradeCycle + MotoHunt
October 22, 2025How had STWS hear about TradeCycle?
Danny Tolentino, GM at SouthTown Watersports, was already familiar with TradeCycle and had some exposure to the platform before our walkthrough. He came to the conversation knowing the basics and was interested in exploring additional options and features. This wasn’t a cold introduction, it was a chance to deepen understanding and tailor the tool to his dealership’s needs. Danny said he had been looking for a trade tool for a long time and even tried to build one on his own!
Did SouthTown need much convincing?
Not at all. Danny was already on board with the concept. Instead of needing a hard sell, the conversation focused on demonstrating different configurations like the sidebar tab, sticky footer bar, explainer page, lead notifications, and AI-driven features. His responses were consistently positive, and he even said, “I like it a lot. I’m looking forward to using it more.” The discussion was about refining, not persuading.
SouthTown Watersports biggest challenges coming to the table?
Danny highlighted a few operational challenges:
-
Trade-in tax credits: North Carolina caps credits at $1,500, which makes the “tax motivator” feature a challenge in his market.
-
Intake process complexity: His team needs intake sheets customized by boat type (wake, pontoon, center console, etc.), since different units have different mechanical checklists.
-
Salesforce limitations: Their CRM won’t accept image or video attachments from outside platforms, which makes full media delivery via SMS and email essential.
-
Email deliverability: HTML-heavy emails were being flagged as spam, which made the AI text-style autoresponder a potentially valuable solution.
What were their goals?
Danny’s goals were clear:
-
Improve trade-in lead capture without creating friction for customers.
-
Ensure leads are fully documented and easy for staff to process, including photos, videos, and condition notes.
-
Provide reliable, auditable lead information that sales managers can trust.
-
Explore new beta features like service intake tools and AI autoresponders that streamline communication and strengthen customer trust.
-
Maintain operational flexibility by customizing forms, notifications, and dashboards to fit his stores.
Was there one thing that stood out that made it all a game changer?
Yes—flexibility and future-proofing.
Danny was impressed by how configurable TradeCycle is across the entire process: customizable explainer pages, optional confirmation settings, appointment incentives, local lookup tools, and even QR code generators for campaigns. He also valued that every lead record is auditable, showing exactly what the customer saw, submitted, and received, something that builds confidence for both staff and customers.
TradeCycle gave Danny and his team the tools to simplify trade-in capture, customize workflows, and deliver a customer experience built on trust. We wish STWS many leads to come!
